“Humans created the mess … and humans should help fix it.” Yes, that.

Well told. We need to make people aware.

Right? It's shocking how many people are still going to breeders (or worse, people with puppies in a box in the Target parking lot) and buying puppies. We are so far away from that being right!

I would add - it’s policies. People create the problem and policies regarding BYB and spay/neuter are not in place, or if they are in place - are not enforced. And, it always the animals that pay the price.

Thank you for all that you do….every day.

Agree, Jill. It feels like spay and neuter is just so much lip service. It's a convenient rallying cry, but sure needs to be enforced. Our shelters are once again overcrowded with, as you aptly put, animals paying the price.

Humans need to stop breeding dogs!! For F sake! Too many being murdered for “space.”

Way too many. Community sheltering should include community education. When you know better, you do better. Thanks for the comment!

I believe owns should be there when the loving loyal pet they dumped because they are an inconvenience, is euthanized!

Life deals hard blows and every situation is different but allowing a loving soul to die alone is unacceptable!

Thank you for this story.

It's shocking, really, when you find out the shelter has notified the former owner of their pet's pending euthanasia, and the owners don't blink. Unimaginable!
